Seven years ago, we were a group of innovators in biodegradable plastics who knew we could make a massive difference for the planet if (and that was a big ‘if’) people just had more opportunities to use our patented bioplastics in their daily lives. During a trip to our favorite boba shop, our teammate Junwei—who comes from a family of traditional Chinese tea masters—asked the question that eventually led to your presence on this tea pod

“What if we put cafe-quality teas in a convenient, affordable pod everyone could use that left zero waste behind?”

That question set off a passionate seven year team journey: developing our patented tea pods, traveling around the world, and sampling thousands of teas. And ta-da! Mad Tea was born.

Patented Tech Makes A Nice Cup of Tea

Our pods are designed with a unique, patented structure to extract rich, full-bodied tea flavor in seconds. Crafted through extensive R&D, the specially engineered bottom is designed to let water evenly flow through the entire pod, ensuring every drop is packed with flavor. Plus, the unique bi-layer compostable film allows Nespresso machine pins to pierce smoothly without damaging the machine.

Mesh Size Matters.

After hundreds of tests, we found the sweet spot for the mesh size inside the pod. Too large, and you’ll miss out on the boldness you love. Too small, and the machine gets clogged. Our precision mesh ensures that the tea flows just right—capturing all the flavor and smooth mouthfeel. We also added a biodegradable mesh on the top lid to filter out every last bit of tea grind, guaranteeing a smooth sip every time.
